Carnew: Beef ‘very much in demand’ with bullocks & culls to €2,200

Carnew Mart – Cattle Prices – 03-09-2022

According to David Quinn, just under 1,400 lots passed through the rings at Carnew Mart on Saturday, September 3^rd, 2022.

The mart manager reported that a “very lively” trade prevailed throughout with a “noticeable” improvement in the bullock and heifer rings.

He said that “bulls were the stock of the day” with heavy lots over 600kg passing the €3/kg mark “at their ease”.

Moreover, in general, beef was “very much in demand” at last Saturday’s general weekly cattle sale.

Cull cows reached €2,200, while heifers topped out at €1,800, bulls hit €2,140, and bullocks peaked at €2,200.
