Blessington Mart – sheep prices – 07-12-2021

According to a spokesperson, Storm Barra resulted in a small entry of sheep at Blessington Mart on Tuesday, December 7^th, 2021.

They reported that a “good selling trade” prevailed for all types at its general weekly sale.

Sheep prices: Blessington Mart 07-12-2021:

• Heavy lambs – €160-€165/head or €103-€112 over;
• Factory lambs – €140-€160/head or €96-€109 over;
• Store lambs over 40kgs – €120-€140/head or €80-€98 over;
• Also, store lambs over 30kgs – €70-€96/head or €40-€69 over;
• Heavy ewes – €142-€164/head:
• Lighter ewes – €88-€134.

This week’s cattle prices

According to a spokesperson, there was a “very good” trade for all cattle at Thursday’s sale (December 9^th, 2021).

They outlined that “lots of customers” made their presence felt, which resulted in a complete clearance of stock.

• Continental store bullocks – €420-€740 over;
• HE/AA store bullocks – €310-€570 over;
• Friesian store bullocks – €190-€410 over;
• Continental store heifers – €410-€660 over;
• HE/AA store heifers – €320+ over the kg;
• Beef cows – €360-€700 over;
• Feeding cows – €100-€300 over.

Last week’s sheep prices

According to a spokesperson, a “very good” trade prevailed for all classes – both fat and store sheep – at Blessington Mart on 30-11-2021.

• Heavy lambs – €165-€169 or €105-€111 over;
• Factory lambs – €145-€165 or €110-€114 over;
• Store lambs over 40kgs – €125-€143 or €85-€107 over;
• Also, store lambs over 35kgs – €110-€127 or €75-€96 over;
• Store lambs over 30kgs – €90-€110 or €60-€86 over;
• Fat ewes – €136-€178/head;
• Lighter ewes – €85-€130/head.

Last week’s cattle prices

According to a spokesperson, there was a “very lively” trade for store bullocks and heifers at the mart’s cattle sale on December 2^nd, 2021.

They reported that a larger entry than the previous week under the hammer.
