Ballymote Mart report – cattle prices – 12-08-2021

According to a spokesperson, there was a “strong entry of stock” at Ballymote Mart on Thursday, August 12^th, 2021.

The mart held a special weanling sale in conjunction with its weekly general cattle sale.

The spokesperson reported that the sale attracted mainly continental-types over 400kg.

Bullocks under 500 kg made from €500 to €800 over:

• CHX – 440 kg – €1240;
• LMX – 450 kg – €1220;
• CHX – 495 kg – €1,240.

Lots 500 to 600 kg sold from €550 to €820 over:

• LMX – 520 KG – €1340;
• 1 LMX – 505 KG – €1260;
• LMX – 500 KG – €1,260.

Heavier lots realised €940 over:

• AAX – 720 KG – €1,660;
• 1 AAX – 715 KG – €1,630;
• AAX – 665 KG – €1,560.

Heifers under 500 kg ranged from €450 to €765 over:

• LMX – 495 KG – €1,260;
• CHX – 450 KG – €1,200;
• LMX – 450 KG – €1,210,

Heavier lots climbed to €850 over:

• AAX – 710 KG – €1,560;
• AAX – 575 KG – €1,390;
• CHX – 545 KG – €1,340;
• AAX – 645 KG – €1,460.

Dry cows fetched from €300 to €500 over for store dairy-types with heavy lots from €500 to €900 over:

• AA – 760 KG – €1660;
• LMX – 720 KG – €1,470;
• SI – 700 KG – €1,340.

Weanling bulls under 400 kg sold from €350 to €705 over:

• LMX – 385 KG – €1090;
• 1 LMX – 380 KG – €1060;
• CHX – 380 KG – €1020.

Lots over 400 kg realised €900 over:

• LMX – 900 KG – €1400;
• CHX – 475 KG – €1,340;
• 1 CHX – 480 KG – €1350.

Weanling heifers under 400 kg climbed from €350 to €1,015 over:

Heavier lots topped out at €710 over:
