Ballymote Mart report – cattle prices – 08-04-2021

According to a spokesperson, there was strong northern demand at Ballymote Mart’s weanling heifer show and sale and special bullock sale on Thursday, April 8^th, 2021.

They reported a “strong” trade at last Thursday’s weanling heifer show and sale and special bullock sale with customers from many counties using the LSL app to purchase some of the quality stock on offer.”

Ballymote cattle prices 08-04-2021

Bullocks under 500 kg made from €320 to €800 over:

• CHX – 480 KG – €1,280;
• LMX – 470 KG – €1,260.

Lots 500 to 600 kg climbed from €480 to €920 over:

• CHX – 560 KG – €1,480;
• AAX – 545 KG – €1,440.

Heavier lots climbed to €980 over:

• SAX – 680 KG – €1,660;
• CHX – 645 KG – €1,600.

Heifers under 500kg from €350 to €720 over:

• CHX – 460 KG – €1,180;
• LMX – 455 KG – €1,170

Heavier lots peaked at €800 over:

• CHX – 540 KG – €1,340;
• CHX – 515 KG – €1,290.

Sucklers went under the hammer from €1,000 to €1,960:

• SI cow and LMX bull at foot – €1,960

Dry cows sold from €300 (for backward store-types) to €965 over:

• LMX – 740 kg – €1,600.

Weanling heifers under 300 kg from €325 to €700 over:

• CHX – 245 KG – 940;
• LMX – 275 KG – €970 (roan coloured heifer);
• CHX – 285 KG – 960;

Lots 300 to 400 kg went under the hammer from €380 to €1,005 over:

• BBX – 365 KG – €1,370 or €3.75/kg;
• BBX – 390 KG – €1,240;
• CHX – 350 KG – €1,200;
• BBX – 395 KG – €1,220.

Heavier lots peaked at €875 over:

• CHX – 425 KG – €1,300;
• LMX – 425 KG – €1,270;
• AAX – 415 KG – €1,200;
• CHX – 470 KG – €1,200.
