Ballinasloe Mart – cattle prices – 18-09-2021

According to a spokesperson, weanling heifers reached €5.13/kg and bulls reached €4.90/kg at Ballinasloe Mart on Saturday, September 18^th, 2021.

The sale-topper came in the form of a January-2021-born WBH son, out of a Charolais dam with CF52 blood. Ahead of the sale, the breeder said, the Belgian-Blue-sired “show type” animal was “born small and developed rapidly” and is suitable for breeding or showing.

Ballinasloe Mart 18-09-2021:

• Weanling bulls: €2.78-€5.20/kg
• Weanling heifers: €2.79-€5.13/kg;
• Cow and calf: €1,030-€1,860/head;
• In-calf cows: €1,000-€1,880;
• Runners: €450-€580/head.

Sheep prices 16-09-2021:

A spokesperson reported that last Thursday’s sheep sale attracted a “large entry”. They noted that a “strong” trade prevailed for all lots on offers.

“Hoggets noticed a significant lift with good prices being achieved. Store lambs were a very good trade with ewe lambs up on previous weeks.”

• Lambs: Average price per head €110 (up to max €200);
• Hoggets: Minimum price per head €122 (up to max €234);
• Stags: Average price per head €95 (up to max €130);
• Ewes: Average price per head €138 (up to max €200);
• Rams: Minimum price per head €165 (up to max €560).
